Burin Peninsula

The old bridge at Pipers River..taken from the new bridge.

Piper’s Hole, just outside Swift Current at the top of the Burin Peninsula, is a beautiful piece of ground, a huge flat basin of estuary underneath big grey stone bluffs. Only two things mar that beauty: a huge quarry just below the look-off, and the tattered remains of a small provincial park that once must have been a small gem to the campers who found it at the end of their drive. The first photo has been cropped for printing. There will be some prints available. I may get a friend to do a painting for me.
